Arkki International selected for the HundrED 2020 Global Collection

Arkki International has been selected for the HundrED 2020 Global Collection as one of the leading and most inspiring innovations in education. The innovations were selected based on 3 criteria: Innovativeness, Impact, and Scalability by HundrED research team and HundrED Academy consisting of more than 100 students, educators, and experts. HundrED Collection 2020 includes 100 inspiring innovations that are changing the face of K12 education today.

The innovations selected in the third Global Collection have a collective impact of  75 million users and cover a wide range of themes. The HundrED 2020 Global Collection was announced at the Global innovation summit in Helsinki, the 6th of November 2019 with 500 education community members. Pihla Meskanen, Arkki International CEO, was selected to present at the stage together with other 12 innovators from around the world.

“We are so excited to be part of the worldwide community of educators who share the same dream and want to make the world a better place through education. The world is changing at high speed, and I would say our creativity is our only limit!” said Pihla Meskanen  during her talk. “Arkki focuses on creativity and innovation skills needed to succeed in life”

The event was opened by Finnish Minister of Education Ms. Li Anderssson. She stressed the importance of adapting education so that children learn skills to succeed in a future where  6 percent of the jobs will be lost to automation and professions we now know will drastically change.

During the ceremony, Saku Tuominen, Founder, and creative director at HundreED highlighted the need to explore creativity in education and close the gap between school and the world. He reminded the public that the purpose of education should be to help every child flourish, no matter what happens in life.

The city of Helsinki was selected as the first HundrED Forerunner with the Mayor of Helsinki,  Mr. Jan Vapaavuori and Ms. Ilona Taimela, a leading Education consultant of the city.
